PICAL's Community Garden was established with the rationale that fresh fruit and vegetables should be locally produced should be available to all.
The garden is an open access community garden available to any members of the community.
Situated in the grounds of the ‘former Kid’s House’ the PICAL Cowes Community Garden is run by PICAL and is a grass roots local food project supported by a combination of volunteer efforts, donations, fundraising, memberships and grants.
The Bass Coast Shire has also been a primary partner that has contributed to the establishment and ongoing management of this project in a myriad of different ways.
The PICAL Cowes Community Garden team are passionate about local food and we look forward to working with the community to fully utilise the potential of this great venue for local food training, events and of course, growing food.
