Target 2,000,000 - Envision Hands

TARGET 2,000,000

Next to plastic bags, plastic bottle tops are one of the top polluters of the oceans and environment. They create micro beads which enter the food chain and pollute our beaches . With this project they now aim to collect, with the help of Rotary and Lions, 2,000,000 bottle tops to recycle them into, mobility aids, Disability Aids, STEM training tools, and Aged Care gadgets.  PICAL is proud to be a collection point for plastic bottle tops, and will ensure all tops collected at our reception area will be delivered to Envision Hands by a local volunteer of our community.

What is Envision?

Envision engage with Government bodies, long term unemployed,  Job Active Network, some wonderfully kind hearted volunteers, and a long list of community organizations to create meaningful contributions to our local community. They have created retro arcades for youth groups, teapot caravan Cafés, Thomas the tank engine rides for kids and so much more while giving people a chance to learn and develop and share skills.

Over the years, with the help of thousands of long term unemployed participants, they have created a myriad of wonderful things, which they have then donated, completely free of charge, throughout their local communities and beyond.

They can surely speak for every employee and volunteer at Envision when they say that they love what they do.

They need your help

Having reached 1,000,000 bottle tops, a fantastic achievement that could never be achieved without the community support, they now have set their sights on 2,000,000 so they still need schools, business and people in the community to help them reach their next target of 2,000,000 bottle tops.

Beyond Tops

Two million tops is a lot of tops.  Unfortunately not all tops are created equal. Our team sort, clean and prepare the tops but of each million (yes we will go beyond) probably only 20% to 50% of the tops will be used solely for the filament but the rest will not be wasted.  They are working on a variety of products at various sites including outdoor tiles, portable disability ramps, slug traps and so much more.
