PICAL easing back into the new normal!
We are very pleased to be carefully resuming more activities at the Centre as Victorian restrictions begin to lift. As such we have 2 courses commencing soon both delivered in adherence to current social distancing guidelines.
DISCOVER HORTICULTURE with Rick Coleman
Join renowned permaculture expert Rick Coleman in the PICAL Community Garden. This 21-hour short course provides participants the knowledge, practical experiences & skills to improve their own home garden or progress into horticulture related employment or further education. Core components include: recognising plants, treating weeds, treating plant pests, diseases and disorders, soil testing and conditioning, undertaking propagation activities, OH&S, and assisting with landscape construction work. As a recognised Learn Local Pre-Accredited course, subject hours are awarded RPL's (Recognition Of Prior Learning) towards Certificate II in Horticulture.
Rick is very knowledgeable in regards to local growing conditions and what works well in the Bass Coast region. Small group sizes with adherence to all social distancing guidelines. Make sure to book early as Rick's classes have been very popular!

THE NEW WORLD OF WORK with Ajanta Judd
Small group workshop starting at PICAL Thursday June 4th 1pm to 4pm for 7 weeks. Come together in a socially distanced space to discuss some of the current issues affecting our working lives. Whether you are recently unemployed or feeling your work situation is not bringing you fulfillment, join our experienced tutor and mentor Ajanta Judd to discuss your options. With a long and broad professional history in community development, counselling & therapy plus small business operations, Ajanta is well equipped to help you identify transferable skills and revive your working life.
Resume assistance, cover letters and interview skills will be covered as well as current training/employment opportunities in the post COVID-19 space. Have your documents signed by a JP at PICAL
PICAL is pleased to be welcoming a representative of the South Gippsland Branch Justice of the Peace Association every Tuesday and Friday as of June 2nd from 9am to 1pm. You can drop in during these times and have your documents witnessed and signed.
A JP is trained to act as an independent and objective witness to documents used for official or legal purposes and can assist you by:
- attesting the execution of a document
- witnessing a statutory declaration
- witnessing an affidavit for use in court
- certifying true copies of an original document
